About Pineville

Pineville, a town in Mecklenburg county, NC located between Charlotte and York County, SC., is perhaps most famous as the birthplace of James K. Polk, the 11th U.S. President.

It was been forever changed by the one mile stretch of Interstate 485 interchange at NC 51 and South Boulevard. The freeway loop that was designed to divert traffic around Charlotte, passes directly through the tiny town of Pineville.
