About Pineville
Pineville, a town in Mecklenburg county, NC located between Charlotte and York County, SC., is perhaps most famous as the birthplace of James K. Polk, the 11th U.S. President.
It was been forever changed by the one mile stretch of Interstate 485 interchange at NC 51 and South Boulevard. The freeway loop that was designed to divert traffic around Charlotte, passes directly through the tiny town of Pineville.
In the years that followed, so did the development of land adjacent to the two I-485 interchanges that has exploded into the largest shopping district in North Carolina. With nearly 8,000,000 square feet of retail space, Pineville is home to the Carolina Place Mall, at least 2 power centres, many strip malls, outparcels and free standing retailers.
Because of its geographical location, situated between Charlotte and the SC state line, Pineville has been called the biggest “small” town around. Here you’ll find the charm of a community full of friendly faces and helping hands but complimented by all the amenities that the larger city of Charlotte has to offer.
Have the best of both worlds, Pineville is known for its quaint neighborhoods and antique stores fill the historical downtown district to the thriving retail centers anchored by the Carolina Place mall. If shopping is your thing then Pineville has it. Antiques, furniture, restaurants, national chains, department stores and local flavor are all right here.

A town of 7,300 people, Pineville is a full service community, with top-level customer services such as police and fire protection, sanitation, park and recreation facilities and other government services, not to mention operation of telephone and electric companies all at affordable prices.
